THE BANK OF LOVE
"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."
1 Corinthians 6: 20, 1 Peter 1: 18, 19
King James Version
When we open a new savings or checking account at a bank, they normally require a deposit. The bank of love which was founded by our loving Saviour also requires a deposit and the deposit was made by our precious Saviour when He was crucified for us. He shed His precious blood on the cruel cross of Calvary for you and for me so that we might have our sins forgiven and live with Him in Heaven for all eternity.
In a savings or checking account, they normally give us an interest rate if we have so much money in the account. Oh dear friends, the interest rate that we receive every day in the bank of love is much more than we could ever receive in our lives from a bank account. In our Saviour's bank of love, the interest rate never goes up or down. He has already given us all that He can give us, His life and His blood.
The benefits remain the same because of our precious Saviour. We read in the Bible "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" (Hebrews 13: 8). His unconditional love, forgiveness, mercy, grace, tenderness, understanding and compassion never changes. He loves us as much today as He did yesterday and He will love us as much tomorrow as He does today.
There is absolutely nothing that you have done or ever could do that would make Jesus stop loving you. It is true that when we sin and fail Him, it hurts Him but He still loves us. Sometimes we turn our love off and on for other people like a water faucet, but His love for us is always on. His love is unconditional and dependable. Oh, that you and I would love others the way that He loves us.
Webster's Dictionary defines bank as "an establishment for the custody, loan, exchange, or issue of money, for the extension of credit, and for facilitating the transmission of funds". When Jesus shed His precious blood on the cross for you and for me, He made the way to have our hearts exchanged and cleansed by His blood. However, we must humble ourselves, admit that we are sinners and invite Him into our hearts to be our personal Saviour.
There is another bank and it is the bank of satan. This bank is dark and ugly and it is full of corruption and sin. We must make a choice between the bank of Jesus or the bank of satan. There is no other choice. We either belong to Jesus or we belong to satan. Have you made your choice? Do you have your account in the bank of love which was founded by our precious Saviour or do you have your account in the bank of sin which was founded by satan?
