BECAUSE OF CHRISTIANS
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7: 14
King James Version
We wonder why we have so much violence in our land. It is not because of the politicians although we sure like to put the blame on them. It is a lot easier to blame someone else than it is to blame ourselves. Jesus clearly tells us that it is because of Christians; people who have had the precious blood of Jesus applied to their hearts for the forgiveness of sins, that we have so many wars and violence in our land.
He has told us that He will not hear us until the people who claim to be Christians, people who have been cleansed by His precious atoning blood, humble themselves, pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways. Then and only then, will He hear us from Heaven and forgive our sins and heal our land. What a sad commentary it is on those of us who claim to be Christians that we are not willing to turn from our wicked ways so that God will hear us from Heaven, forgive us and heal our land.
Instead of criticizing the politicians, it is time that we start putting the blame where it belongs, with us, we who claim to be Christians. Also, if we would pray more for our leaders instead of criticizing them, I believe that we would see our prayers answered. The politicians may not be doing all that they claimed they would do. However, we as Christians need to realize that often we do not do everything that we promised Jesus we would do.
What is the condition of your heart today? Is it filled with the things that bring joy and happiness to Jesus or is it filled with the things that hurt Him and bring shame to Him? Is your heart filled with unconditional love and compassion for others or is your heart filled with criticism and unforgiveness for others? If Jesus were to come back for us today, would He look at you with joy and happiness on His face, or would He have a look of sadness on His face and tears in His eyes? Are you making Him happy or are you breaking the heart of our precious Saviour? After all that He has done for us, He deserves to be happy!
